Crashes & Slooooooow w/ the new IPad (3)

It used to be good when reading on my IPad 2, but I thought with the new IPad 3 and its retina display the resolution would be a terrific boost, but the opposite happened!! It is VERY SLOW in showing a clear image of the pages..... Even tough it is previously downloaded , it seems that it doesnt have enough memory to handle the resolution the retina display has to offer. Plus: it crashes constantly. PLEASE HELP!!!!
